Businesses and organizations play an important role in protecting the human rights of Nova Scotians. Employees and customers rely on being treated fairly and with respect.

We encourage businesses and the public to contact us and ask questions, whether or not they have a complaint.

We regularly meet with organizations and individuals to discuss human rights principles at work, in the communities and as volunteers. The Commission also calls together focus groups to invite input on how to improve our services. To arrange a consultation, please contact us.

Policy Development and Review 

Approximately 80% of complaints accepted by the Commission originate at the workplace. To assist Nova Scotians reduce the frequency of workplace discrimination, the Commission offers support to small, medium and large organizations seeking to develop or improve their workplace policies. We offer consultative feedback on human rights policies and issues that might arise. Please contact us to schedule a consultation.
