Independent Human Rights Hearing Begins October 15

An independent human rights board of inquiry in the matter of Dwayne Emmerson vs. the Province of Nova Scotia will begin Tuesday, October 15, in Halifax.

Mr. Emmerson alleges he was discriminated against based on his race and/or colour by his former employer, then called the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

The board chair for the hearing is Eric Slone, who is independent of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission.

The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Halifax-Bedford, 980 Parkland Dr.
