Modernization Engagement

Sep 19, 2025

An online survey is now available to provide input on government’s modernization of the way the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission protects the rights of Nova Scotians and administers the province’s human rights complaints process.  This comes in response to calls for improvement and to address issues we have long known to be critical to serving the public.

The Department of Justice launched the survey today which is being administered by Narrative Research who has been contracted to oversee the public consultations. The survey will run for three weeks and is the primary method for members of the public to provide input into this important process. General comments are also welcomed via email directly to Narrative Research at info@narrativeresearch.ca.

Modernizing the Human Rights Commission will help us better meet the needs of Nova Scotians today and into the future. This is about building a fair, transparent and responsive system that resolves complaints effectively while also working proactively to prevent discrimination. We’re excited about the opportunities this brings to better serve  the people of Nova Scotia.

The preceding is a message from Joseph Fraser, Director & CEO of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission.
