Symington v. Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Dismissed

The board chair in an independent human rights board of inquiry has dismissed the matter of Kathleen Symington v. Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency today, Oct. 15.

Ms. Symington’s complaint alleged Halifax Regional Fire Service discriminated against her because of her gender and later retaliated against her for filing a human rights complaint.

The board chair Dennis James dismissed Ms. Symington’s complaint citing that the respondent did not discriminate against her nor retaliated against her for bringing her complaint to the Human Rights Commission.
