Independent Adjudicator Finds No Evidence of Discrimination

The adjudicator in an independent human rights board of inquiry has dismissed the complaint of Sherri Borden Colley vs. The Source, citing no evidence of discrimination.
Ms. Borden Colley alleges The Source discriminated against her because of her race, colour and gender while she was shopping at the store in the Elmsdale Shopping Centre.
In his decision, board of inquiry adjudicator Eric Slone, who is independent of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, concluded that while Ms. Borden Colley’s feelings and perceptions were genuine, the evidence did not establish, on an objective basis, that she had been subjected to discrimination or racial profiling contrary to the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act.
