David v Sobeys Decision on Remedy
Apr 29, 2016
A Nova Scotia woman who was racially profiled while shopping at a Sobeys store in Tantallon will receive $21,000 by Sobeys Group Inc.
The board chair of the independent human rights board of inquiry in the matter of Andrella David v. Sobeys Group Inc. issued her decision on remedy late yesterday, April 28.
Marion Hill concluded in her original decision on the matter, issued in October 2015, that Ms. David had been discriminated against on the basis of her race and/or colour when wrongfully accused of shoplifting by a Sobeys employee.
The full decision on remedy is posted to the Board of Inquiry Decision page here.
